Subtalar joint osteoarthritis
The subtalar joint is just below the ankle joint. It can be prone to arthritis, causing pain on the outside of the ankle, which extends up the leg.
While symptoms often improve with time, our treatments include prescribing anti-inflammatory painkillers, physiotherapy and selective X-ray guided joint injections.
If these treatments are unsuccessful, a subtalar joint fusion, can yield excellent results.
